As a Junior Systems Administrator with Network and Data Solutions Integrators (NDSI), you will be pivotal in enhancing and connecting the essential systems that drive our operations. Your role will place you at the forefront of technological innovation, significantly contributing to the efficiency of various agencies.

Your Impact as a Junior Systems Administrator

In this position, you will oversee the workflows of an organization’s computer systems, ensuring their upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation. Collaborating with both on-site and remote users, you will facilitate site visits and upgrades, provide resolution support for trouble calls, and deliver Tier 2/3 support for Unix/Windows workstations and servers, including web servers and network-attached storage devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks, including account monitoring and security.
  • Support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure management.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices.
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Communicate status updates to agency management and internal customers.
  • Install and configure operating systems and application software.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues across various systems.
  • Maintain network integrity and configure components to enhance reliability and performance.
  • Conduct software installations and upgrades, ensuring compliance with established policies.
  • Develop and follow procedures for managing linked databases, focusing on security and data integrity.
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance of data center equipment.
  • Coordinate scheduled preventive maintenance with affected customers.
  • Contribute to the development and testing of backup and recovery plans.
  • Ensure compliance with security guidelines utilizing appropriate tools.
  • Maintain operational and configuration standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Verify system availability using existing enterprise tools.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Technical training, certifications, or a relevant degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Security+ certification or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent required within 90 days of hire.
  • TS/SCI Clearance required with eligibility for CI Poly.
  • Experience in UNIX, Windows, and/or storage administration.
  • Familiarity with trouble reporting and tracking systems.
  • Ability to provide on-call support after hours.
  • Willingness to travel 0-20% to various locations.
  • Strong prioritization and execution skills in high-pressure environments.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry equipment as necessary (maximum 40 pounds).

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in the imagery intelligence domain is a plus.
  • Proficiency in scripting across Windows, Linux, and Solaris systems.
  • Understanding of customer processes and production systems.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Windows Server, Red Hat, IRIX, Solaris, Sybase, Informix, SQL, and Imagery Production Chain.
  • General knowledge of database and network administration, along with network configuration management skills.
