Overview

The role is essential in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the unit, providing therapeutic interventions aligned with established best practices, care plans, and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties:

Oversees and manages the implementation of individual care plans. Executes all responsibilities associated with the nursing assistant role. Delivers direct patient care, focusing on behavioral symptom management and assisting patients in coping with various stressors. Collaborates with the care team to develop and revise care plans and discharge strategies. Encourages patient involvement in activities and records their participation. Offers practical assistance and coaching to help patients with daily living activities and address their concerns. Provides patient care with an emphasis on safety, comfort, and a therapeutic environment. Supports team members in addressing patient needs. Participates in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

General Expectations:

Works collaboratively with team members, fostering positive communication, taking initiative, and demonstrating leadership through example. Exhibits understanding of growth and development principles relevant to the patient population served. Establishes and nurtures positive therapeutic relationships with patients. Commits to safety regulations and identifies opportunities for process standardization to enhance safety. Adheres to established policies, procedures, and quality standards. Engages in professional development through educational opportunities and staff meetings. Delivers exceptional service to all stakeholders and promotes teamwork and fiscal responsibility. Maintains skills in de-escalation techniques. Completes documentation in accordance with established standards.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or GED is required.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting is required.

Certifications:

Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire. Certified Nurse Aide certification is preferred upon hire.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Effective analytical, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to observe patient behavior and document findings accurately. Teaching and mentoring abilities. Excellent customer service skills. Familiarity with therapeutic activities is preferred.
