Position Overview

The Senior Audit Manager is responsible for directing the planning and execution of audits related to specific business sectors or corporate functions. This role includes managing the Audit team that conducts these evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the audit strategy for designated business areas, encompassing audit frameworks, resource allocation, and financial planning.
  • Holds overall accountability for the successful completion of audits. Organizes and leads audit initiatives while supervising staff engaged in various audits, drawing conclusions, and communicating findings to relevant business units.
  • Conducts assessments of critical audit areas. Reviews audit documentation and ensures that findings are followed up and validated effectively.
  • Guarantees that audits are performed and finalized in alignment with established standards, adhering to time, budget, and scope requirements to meet deadlines.
  • Supervises a small to medium-sized team assigned to specific audits, providing coaching and performance feedback throughout the audit process.
  • Evaluates internal and external risks for assigned business sectors or functions, leveraging their expertise in the subject matter.
  • Acts as the primary liaison with management regarding audit scope, findings, and progress.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • Advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Proficient in PC applications (MS Office Suite).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Advanced critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel 35% or more.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Timely and accurate task completion.
  • Prompt escalation of issues and delays.
  • Effectively manage competing priorities for self and team members.
  • Thorough understanding of banking regulations and laws impacting the relevant area.
  • In-depth functional audit knowledge and skills.
  • Relevant professional certification is required.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Advanced expertise in designated subject matter areas.
  • Ability to adapt, advocate, and lead change initiatives.
  • Experience in leading and managing small to medium-sized teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Banking experience is advantageous.
  • Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships within and outside the audit function.
  • Ability to develop rapport with business units while conducting audits.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for assigned business lines.
  • Deliver constructive feedback and follow up as necessary.
  • Strong influencing capabilities.
  • Manage a team of professionals, focusing on development, recruitment, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure effective resource utilization to achieve target rates.
  • Accountable for fostering recognition within the team and division.
  • Engage team members in challenging assignments within the team and at the division level.
  • Keep team members informed and engaged.

  • Deliver impactful presentations and training at the division level and industry events.
  • Facilitate successful onboarding and orientation for new hires.

Preferred Experience:

  • CAMS or CFE certification.
  • Experience in Financial Crimes/AML Auditing.
