Job Summary:
Talbert House is seeking a highly skilled Prevention and Education Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our prevention services team, you will be responsible for providing prevention and education services in a variety of settings, including schools, community groups, and other organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement prevention services over a varied group of topics, including substance abuse, mental health, bullying, and suicide.
- Provide training to all staff in prevention and education services and appropriate use of the service.
- Remain current on Prevention and Education standards and ensure the program provides services in accordance with those standards.
- Identify and assess needs of customers/clients and utilize supportive educational methods that are appropriate to customer and topic.
- Complete service documentation accurately and timely in electronic health record.
- Provide both prevention and education services, and facilitate referral to and/or provide appropriate level of care.
- Develop, define, and implement realistic, effective, and measurable goals and plans for services.
- Collect, track, and evaluate program data for fidelity and service quality.
- Recruit community groups, schools, and others for prevention services.
- Adhere to professional standards as outlined by protocols, rules, and regulations.
- Drive for job duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- CDCA with experience required.
- Associates Degree or equivalent work experience as allowed/required by regulatory bodies.
- Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist preferred.
Essential Functions/Physical Demands:
- Positional: Driving in accordance with job duties assigned. Occasional standing and walking. Constant sitting.
- Gross Mobility: Rare climbing, or crawling. Infrequent balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Frequent to constant reaching, handling, and fingering.
- Sensory: Rare tasting/smelling. Infrequent use of color vision. Occasional use of far visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision. Frequent use of near and midrange visual acuity, and visual accommodation. Frequent to constant talking.
