At Axelon, we are seeking a highly skilled Substation Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing engineering design services for substation facilities and ensuring that these facilities are constructed on schedule and within committed resource allocations.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop economical, technically feasible, reliable substation physical and control designs.
- Provide technical management of multiple substation projects and prioritization of work, working collaboratively with outside consulting firms and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure quality control on assigned projects by providing construction support as needed, including coordination with construction forces and job site inspections.
- Provide coordination and communication with other departments in completing procurement tasks on projects with moderate supervision or guidance.
- Assist and guide other departments in the solution of non-standard substation design problems.
- Provide accurate cost estimates for use in company budgeting procedures.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school in engineering and 1-3 years of experience with substation design.
- Demonstrated knowledge of fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge in substation/control engineering principals and other phases of engineering.
- Economic analysis methods, budgeting procedures, and company policies, rules and regulations.
- Utility engineering practices and procedures, construction methods and material specifications.
