Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Transmission Asset Management team at NV Energy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the transmission engineering function in regards to system design, project management, and project work while interfacing with various teams in Power Systems Engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering activities for transmission lines and substations, and interface with contractors for engineering and project management duties.
  • Review project design documents in conjunction with Guides and Standards and standard utility practices.
  • Manage transmission outage data and correlate with other sources of data using Excel and other tools.
  • Report, archive, record, and document the data and drawings associated with asset management.
  • Manage multiple databases and assess data using SQL.
  • Participate in the North American Transmission Forum (NATF).
  • Coordinate and manage NERC, FERC, and RTO/ISO criteria and documents.
  • Ensure all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understand and comply with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited school.
  • Five years of experience in transmission systems including substations as a licensed professional engineer.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong planning and organizing skills.
  • Adaptable and results-oriented.

  • Annual Salary: $100,700 (Min) to $118,400 (Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company.
