Job Title: Senior Engineer - Design Transmission/Civil

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our team in Las Vegas, NV. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive civil/structural engineering design services for substation and/or transmission facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop economical, technically feasible, reliable transmission and substation civil/structural designs with minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Provide civil engineering expertise to develop substation/civil plans for sitework, including grading, off-site improvements, drainage facilities, fencing, and block walls.
  • Complete calculations and prepare designs for substation steel structures, foundations, and control enclosures.
  • Acquire all necessary construction approvals and permits from the authority having jurisdiction.
  • Develop and implement transmission line engineering analysis, route analysis, and selection.
  • Specify materials and evaluate bid documents and technical submittals.
  • Complete the construction package and provide accurate cost estimates and schedule input for use in company budgeting procedures.
  • Evaluate, benchmark, and make recommendations for the creation and improvements of substation and transmission standards and specifications.
  • Perform studies, prepare, and provide written and oral reports to management and internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate and interact professionally with internal and external customers and stakeholders to ensure a successful project.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited school and 5 years of industry experience as a practicing engineer, and must be a licensed PE. If no PE license, then must have 8+ years as a practicing engineer.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of utility settings, civil, structural, and/or transmission engineering design.
  • Civil experience of substation/switchyard site development or related design.
  • Structural experience involving substation steel design or transmission pole design for projects up to 230kV.
  • Transmission line design experience including overhead line design up to 230kV or underground line design up to 230kV.
  • Analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Benefits:

  • Annual Salary: $98,000 to $115,000.
  • Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company.
