Job Summary:

Axelon is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our team in the substation design department.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in designing substation facilities.

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for providing comprehensive engineering design services, ensuring that facilities are constructed on schedule and within committed resource allocations.

The candidate will also provide leadership, training, and direction to fellow staff members and ensure quality control on assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop economical, technically feasible, reliable substation physical and control designs

Ensure quality control on assigned projects by providing construction support and job site inspections

Provide coordination and communication with other departments to maintain project schedules and expenditures

Provide assistance and guidance to other departments and districts in the solution of non-standard substation design problems

Monitors project expenditures and practice cost control

Provides accurate cost estimates for use in company budgeting procedures

Ensure all compliance aspects of position are known and followed

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited school and 5 years industry experience as a practicing engineer, and must be a licensed PE

Specialized knowledge of relay protection, wiring & control and knowledge of other phases of substation engineering

Areas of cost control, budgets, finance, and accounting with technical experiences in cost analysis

Skills such as analytical, interpersonal and communication with company personnel, customers, and regulatory agencies

Multi-tasking's, leadership, research, analysis, project management, problem-solving and decision-making

Equipment and Applications: PCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software

Work Environment:

General office environment with some field work for supervision
