Job Description:
As a Cybersecurity Systems Security Supervisor, you will serve as a key advisor on all technical and non-technical aspects related to the safeguarding of information systems.


Your primary focus will be on supporting Special Access Programs (SAPs) for Department of Defense (DoD) entities, including various military and governmental agencies.

This role entails providing ongoing support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) operations.

Key Responsibilities:


Oversee the creation, execution, and assessment of information system security program policies, with a strong emphasis on integrating existing SAP network infrastructures.


Formulate and manage operational policies and guidelines for information systems security, utilizing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) with a focus on Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG) authorization processes.

Advise clients on RMF assessment and authorization matters.

Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to DoD agency clients.

Guide program managers on security testing methodologies and procedures.

Review authorization documentation and deliver written recommendations for authorization to government program managers.

Establish and maintain a formal Information Systems Security Program.


Ensure that all Information Assurance Officers (IAOs), network administrators, and cybersecurity personnel receive the necessary technical and security training to fulfill their responsibilities.

Develop, assess, endorse, and recommend actions based on system assessment documentation.

Ensure that approved protocols are in place for the clearing, sanitizing, and destruction of various hardware and media.


Design and implement security assessment plans that verify the necessary features and assurances for each protection level.

Maintain an applicable repository for all system authorization documentation and modifications.

Establish and implement a Configuration Control Board (CCB) charter.

Develop policies and procedures for addressing security incidents, including the investigation and reporting of security violations and incidents.


Ensure appropriate protective or corrective measures are taken when a vulnerability or incident is identified within a system.


Establish data ownership and responsibilities for each authorization boundary, including accountability, access rights, and special handling requirements.


Ensure the development and execution of an information security education, training, and awareness program, which includes monitoring and presenting local cybersecurity training.

Evaluate threats and vulnerabilities to determine if additional safeguards are necessary.

Assess changes in the system, its environment, and operational needs that could impact authorization.

Ensure valid Authorization determinations are made for all authorization boundaries under your oversight.

Review AIS assessment plans.

Coordinate with security officials on the approval of external information systems.

Conduct periodic assessments of the security posture of the authorization boundaries.

Ensure configuration management for security-relevant changes to software, hardware, and firmware, ensuring proper documentation.

Conduct regular testing to evaluate the security posture of information systems using various intrusion detection and monitoring tools.


Ensure that system recovery and reconstitution processes are developed and monitored to maintain the availability of the authorization boundary.

Ensure all authorization documentation is current and accessible to authorized personnel.

Ensure that system security requirements are addressed throughout all phases of the system life cycle.

Develop Assured File Transfers (AFT) in accordance with the JSIG.

Participate in self-inspections.

Perform the duties of the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) when one is not available.

Experience:
5+ years of relevant experience.

Previous roles as ISSO or ISSM are preferred.

SAP experience is highly desired.

Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (4 years)

Certifications:
IAT Level II (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc.) or IAM Level II - to be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Security Clearance:
TS/SCI with willingness to submit to a CI polygraph.

Other Requirements:
Must possess a working knowledge of DoD, National, and applicable service and agency security policies, manuals, and standards.

Must be able to regularly lift up to 50lbs.
