The Cybersecurity Systems Security Specialist will collaborate with the security team, program management, and government stakeholders to function as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). This position is critical in ensuring the integrity and security of information systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily information system security operations, including the implementation of hardware and software solutions.
  • Execute technical administration of information systems in alignment with internal and customer security protocols, primarily focusing on the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to network and security incidents.
  • Document compliance activities within the designated automated compliance tracking system or collaborate with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to formulate a plan of actions and milestones (POA&M) to rectify any noncompliance issues.
  • Ensure that systems are operated, maintained, and decommissioned in accordance with established security policies and practices.
  • Balance competing demands from various customers and programs effectively.
  • Conduct audits as a significant aspect of this role.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Possession of a current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or the capability to obtain it within six months of employment.
  • Experience in information systems auditing.
  • Familiarity with operating system security requirements.
  • Practical experience with industry-standard Information Assurance tools.

Preferred Skills:
  • Proven technical expertise in Windows and Unix-based operating systems and command line interfaces.
  • Extensive experience in system hardening, analysis, and vulnerability management.
  • Prior involvement with system accreditation requirements and RMF implementation.
  • Experience in deploying complex technologies within large-scale environments, demonstrating strong technical capabilities.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies combined with sound business insight.
  • Experience with Tenable Nessus / Security Center and Splunk.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages.
  • Experience in implementing or validating Secure Technical Implementation Guidance (STIGs).
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field with five years of pertinent experience, or a master's degree with three years of relevant experience.

Security Clearance Requirement:
This position mandates a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. citizens to be considered.

Work Environment:
This role is performed onsite at a designated facility, supporting a full-time schedule.
