Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Junior Accountant to assist in the management of financial operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a foundational understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly in utility accounting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research on GAAP, SEC regulations, and relevant company policies.
  • Apply utility accounting principles to assigned tasks.
  • Implement and uphold internal controls to maintain the integrity of financial data.
  • Prepare financial reports that comply with GAAP and accurately represent the company's financial status.
  • Independently create schedules and journal entries.
  • Process a high volume of non-PO invoices in SAP, ensuring data integrity by updating vendor information consistently.
  • Address inquiries from vendors and internal stakeholders regarding invoices and payment requests.
  • Collaborate with the Finance and Accounting Team during month-end closing activities.
  • Prepare monthly accruals and journal entries with a keen attention to detail.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
  • Experience with SAP is essential.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
  • High School diploma is mandatory; some college coursework is preferred.

Additional Information:

This position does not require driving and is a standard 8-5 shift with a total of 40 hours per week. Candidates should be prepared to maintain high standards of accuracy and detail in their work.
