Laboratory Operations Manager

Job Summary
American Health Associates is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Manager to oversee the daily operations of our clinical laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical technology, chemistry, or a related field, and at least 5 years of experience in a high-complexity laboratory setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely performance of all testing and documentation of quality control, quality assurance, compliance, and maintenance activities.
- Supervise and manage the laboratory team, maintaining appropriate staffing and coverage levels.
- Provide orientation and training for all testing personnel.
- Perform and document annual competency reviews for all testing personnel.
- Ensure accurate and timely routine and STAT result reporting.
- Answer technical questions and resolve specimen integrity issues.
- Evaluate and review quality control data and documentation for issues and make corrective action plans.
- Review calibrations and calibration verifications for each laboratory section.
- Ensure that all analyzer maintenance is performed on schedule and review documentation.
- Oversee completion, submission, and review of proficiency test surveys.
- Develop and administer the laboratory quality assurance program to ensure testing accuracy and consistency.
- Update standard operating procedures (SOP) and procedure manuals for each laboratory department.
- Ensure compliance with all CAP, CLIA, OSHA, and applicable state standards.
- Lead preparation for accreditation reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or physical science, required; advanced degree preferred.
- MT (ASCP) or equivalent, required.
- TN STATE LICENSE, required.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a high-complexity laboratory setting, including years of management experience with direct supervision required.
- Must maintain current registration with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
- Experience with Beckman Coulter AU5800 and DXH900 equipment preferred.
- Must meet all applicable required state and federal standards to perform assigned testing.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., face coverings, gloves, lab coats, etc.).
- Must be able to routinely lift 40lbs.

- Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel expertise required.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow all company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines to ensure staff compliance.
