Key Responsibilities- Answer incoming calls and provide information and assistance to clients
- Schedule appointments for medical, behavioral health, and dental providers
- Verify and collect demographic and billing information
- Document and make changes to patient demographic information
- Route calls to appropriate individuals or departments
- Monitor schedules for errors or overbooking
- Validate and correct insurance information as required
- Support the mission statement to develop, enhance, and promote quality customer service through team effort
- High school degree or GED required
- Proficient use of computer applications such as GE Centricity, Excel, and Word
- Strong communication and ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- 1 year of experience in a call center or patient access setting
- Successful completion of telephonic customer service training and de-escalation training
- Proficiency in all call center representative competencies and insurance training
- 1 or more years of experience in a call center or financial counseling setting
- Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurances
- CPT and ICD-9 coding desirable
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing Spanish
Works under minimal direction. Primary work setting is an indoor office/healthcare environment.
