Manager of Technical Services

Position Overview:
The Technical Solutions Lead will manage all technical support functions within the waste management facilities of the organization. This role is essential to ensure that all personnel and facilities adhere to company policies, procedures, and the relevant laws and regulations governing operations. The individual will also provide technical assistance to both internal and external clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and direct daily technical operations to meet or exceed the expectations of the company, clients, and regulatory bodies.
- Support customer service and facility teams in the classification of waste materials.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of DOT regulations and classifications.
- Have a solid grasp of RCRA regulations and classifications.
- Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor when interacting with all customers.
- Serve as a technical resource for customer service and operational teams.
- Ability to read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Review and assist in the creation and management of necessary waste profiles.
- Provide technical support for internal and third-party waste material management in collaboration with sales and operations.
- Complete disposal certificates as required.
- Coordinate with receiving facilities to establish disposal parameters.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies related to incoming and outgoing materials.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Help operations identify potentially hazardous materials.
- Assist in the pre-screening of materials for GFL-owned and third-party disposal facilities.
- Build and maintain daily relationships with internal and external vendors and customers.

Qualifications:
- Must possess a diploma in Environmental or Chemical Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of RCRA and DOT regulations is essential.
- Previous laboratory or technical experience is advantageous.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Windows and Office applications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
- Must be self-motivated, capable of multitasking, and effective in a team-oriented environment.
- Detail-oriented and safety-conscious.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities.
- Ability to assist in the development and implementation of new procedures in collaboration with the direct supervisor.
- This position primarily allows for remote work with occasional travel and office visits.
