Position Overview:

The Technical Solutions Manager is responsible for overseeing the technical support functions within the waste management facilities of the organization. This role ensures that all personnel and operations adhere to company policies, procedures, and relevant laws and regulations. The manager will also provide technical assistance to both internal teams and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and manage daily technical operations to align with company, customer, and regulatory standards.
  • Support customer service and facility teams in the classification of waste materials.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of DOT regulations and classifications.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of RCRA regulations and classifications.
  • Engage with all customers in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Serve as a technical resource for customer service and operational teams.
  • Interpret and analyze Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Assist in the development and management of required waste profiles.
  • Provide technical support for both internal and third-party waste management operations.
  • Complete necessary Certificates of Disposal.
  • Coordinate with receiving facilities to establish disposal parameters.
  • Address discrepancies related to incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Help identify potentially hazardous materials in operations.
  • Support pre-screening of materials for GFL-owned and third-party disposal facilities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams, third-party vendors, and customers.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a diploma in Environmental or Chemical Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of RCRA and DOT regulations is essential.
  • Previous experience in a laboratory or technical environment is advantageous.
  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Windows and Office).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must be self-motivated, capable of multitasking, and effective in a team setting.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on safety.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication abilities.
  • Ability to assist in the development and implementation of new procedures with direct supervision.
  • This role is primarily remote with occasional travel required.
