Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Support Specialist to join our team at the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh. In this role, you will provide administrative assistance to the Resident Self Sufficiency Department, supporting clerical tasks and maintaining filing/tracking systems.

About the Job

The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the department, ensuring seamless operations and efficient communication with stakeholders. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Receiving, logging, and distributing incoming correspondence;
  • Addressing requests for information;
  • Maintaining supplies and inventory;
  • Providing reception coverage to the department, greeting visitors, and directing telephone traffic;
  • Sending applicants and residents requests for additional information;
  • Mailing accommodation letters to applicants and residents;
  • Distributing documentation to bidders, vendors, and other customers;
  • Maintaining confidential files and records;
  • Developing and updating reporting tools as assigned.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent;
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in supporting professional staff with office, database, and systems management;
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Gmail);
  • The ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year
