Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Medical Technician to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our emergency medical services team, you will be responsible for providing critical care to patients in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat patients in emergency situations, providing advanced life support care as needed.
  • Operate emergency vehicles and equipment, ensuring safe transportation of patients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide seamless care to patients.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of emergency medical procedures and protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required; advanced life support experience preferred.
  • Valid Virginia Department of Health Emergency Medical Technician - Intermediate or Paramedic certification required.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment and patients.
Working Conditions

This role requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending, and exposure to various environmental conditions. The ability to work in a fast-paced emergency setting is essential.
