Job Title: Computer & Electrical Engineer SoftwareJob Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our Examination Design Projects subdivision, you will play a vital role in developing precision mechatronic examination systems for inspecting irradiated fuel from the Navy's submarines and aircraft carriers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect, design, and deploy custom software solutions for control systems
  • Develop systems that optimize lifecycle management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and electrical engineers, test sponsors, and operations personnel
  • Work in a laboratory environment and office-based setting to develop design documentation and author software code
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science-related field and 4 years of relevant experience
  • Master's degree in engineering or science-related field and 2 years of relevant experience
  • Currently or previously NPE qualified
  • CTE/ACRS and 1 year EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program
  • Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and 1 year as SRE
Preferred Skills:
  • Proficient oral and written communication
  • Creativity in problem-solving
  • Experience in C#, LabVIEW, and AcroBasic
  • Ability and desire to work in a team environment
Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $83,600.00 - $130,700.00 annually, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and voluntary benefits, disability, life, and accident insurance, 401(k) savings program, personal and medical time off, paid parental leave, flexible work schedules, tuition assistance, student debt benefit, and more.
