Field Application Specialist

Job Summary:
Hirose Electric USA, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Field Application Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and product presentations to customers, as well as coordinating and providing support for technical inquiries with our Japanese and US Engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and product presentations to customers
- Coordinate and provide support for technical inquiries with Japanese and US Engineering teams
- Help expand the sales team's technical presence within key customer accounts
- Understand customer technology direction information and summarize and share those trends
- Understand customer applications and competitor's products by teardown analysis and by measurement and create reports
- Support technology and product demonstrations as requested by sales
- Understand how to use and maintain electrical equipment
- Build relationships with cable and harness manufacturers
- Help sales promotion activities (i.e. exhibition participation, sales package creation)
Requirements:
- BSEE or BSME is required or equivalent
- (5+) years of experience preferred
- Excellent communication, presence, and presentation skills to work with internal teams, external partners, and customers
- Strong ability to organize and drive projects with effective project management skills
- Proficient computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with or another CRM package a plus, but not required
- Positive attitude, proactive mentality, team player, responsive with a strong work ethic
- Cross-cultural work experience is a plus, preferably with Japanese companies
- Must be able to work with Hirose Japan Sales and Engineering team overtime as needed
- Self-motivated & positive attitude with great energy
- A strong level of engineering aptitude with ability to communicate technical solutions, along with a full understanding of all Hirose product lines is required to help address and solve customer related problems
- Must be able to travel up to 30% of time to multiple customer's R&D locations and may include international travel
- Must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship now or in the future
