Overview

The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency is in search of dedicated individuals with a keen interest in investigative processes to join our team as a Background Investigation Specialist. Position Details

This role may be filled at the GG-05 grade level. Candidates should specify the grade level for which they wish to be considered. The incumbent may be promoted non-competitively to the designated target grade upon fulfilling developmental milestones, performance standards, and other applicable requirements.

Key Responsibilities

As a Background Investigation Specialist, your primary duties will include:
  • Assisting in the execution of Federal Personnel Background Investigations, particularly those that are sensitive or contentious, involving allegations or ambiguous information of a potentially adverse nature.
  • Assessing an individual's reliability for access to classified materials, suitability for sensitive roles, retention in military service, or eligibility for Federal employment.
  • Supporting the collection and analysis of information from various records.
  • Drafting investigation reports in compliance with Department of Defense guidelines and protocols.
  • Providing assistance in the Field Office as necessary to maintain coverage of administrative tasks.
Qualifications
