Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Systems Biologist to join our team. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for analyzing large biological datasets to generate valuable insights, identify potential biomarkers, and build accurate predictive models of biological processes.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze large biological data sets to generate valuable insights, identify potential biomarkers, and build accurate predictive models of biological processes, such as tumor evolution and neurodegeneration.
- Advance the integration of multi-omics and experimental/clinical data to inform biological mechanisms (e.g., Genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, epitranscriptomics, proteomics).
- Collaborate with internal and external researchers to analyze and interpret NGS data using existing and custom methods.
- Actively participate in the publication process, including manuscript preparation for peer-reviewed journals and code generation.
- Contribute to the development of grant proposals and funding applications.
- Stay current with state-of-the-art methods and data releases, including reading academic papers, reproducing algorithms and methods, and analyzing relevant datasets from various sources.
- A PhD in computer science, computational biology, bioinformatics, systems biology, or a related field.
- Familiar with large-scale data analysis and an understanding of data models to represent biological concepts.
- Significant experience analyzing RNA sequencing (bulk and single-cell) and demonstrated ability to establish biological insights. Experience assigning function to RNA modifications a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages like Python/R and omic data analysis.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate to senior management, across various departments, and a scientific audience.
