About the Role

The Portfolio Analyst role at Pacific Western Bank is a critical position that requires a detail-oriented and analytical individual to monitor the performance of borrowers, identify deviations from expected performance, and raise credit concerns to the portfolio team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis of credit and collateral of borrowers, with a focus on data collection and analysis.
  • Validate borrower compliance based on the Loan & Security Agreement, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Perform in-depth financial, operational, valuation, and transactional analyses to inform business decisions.
  • Assist in underwriting modifications or renewals for borrowers, and help present deals to the credit committee.
  • Complete thorough borrower risk assessments to identify potential areas of concern.
  • Maintain data integrity in internal bank systems related to financials or other key information.
  • Produce high-quality internal deliverables that meet the needs of the portfolio team.
  • Collaborate with management teams of portfolio companies to understand performance and financial needs, fostering strong working relationships.
  • Travel to client sites to conduct site visits and gather information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of related experience in a financial analysis or risk assessment role, or public accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Preferred: Master's degree or higher in a related field.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements (profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements) and identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills and resourcefulness necessary to complete in-depth industry and market analyses.
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and oral communication skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
  • Comfortable interacting directly with clients and stakeholders.
  • Above-average knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Self-starter with a strong attention to detail.

Salary Range: $59,000 - $80,106.00 USD; Final salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with geographic/market data.
