Position Overview
This role is designated for a Physical Security Officer within the Army National Guard Units. This is a full-time, Excepted Temporary Indefinite position that requires membership in the Georgia Army National Guard. The position may transition to permanent status without further competition.

Eligibility
Open to current members of the Georgia Army National Guard.

Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Security Officer, you will:
  • Manage access control, direct vehicular flow, and verify identification of individuals entering and exiting military property.
  • Identify and report any suspicious activities or circumstances that may compromise safety or security.
  • Possibly oversee traffic, establish roadblocks, and restrict access to specific areas during special events or for traffic management.
  • Ensure the physical security and access control of property, safeguarding personnel and assets while preventing criminal activities.
  • Remain vigilant to detect and address trespassing and security breaches, conducting preliminary investigations as necessary.
  • Perform assigned duties either at fixed posts or through foot patrols, ensuring compliance with established boundaries and responsibilities.

Typical Duties Include
  • Maintaining the integrity of assigned posts and areas.
  • Detaining individuals attempting unauthorized access to military properties.
  • Executing traffic control measures as per assignment.
  • Safeguarding both public and private property.
  • Monitoring and reporting security violations.
  • Maintaining effective communication via radio.
  • Documenting routine and extraordinary incidents accurately and promptly.
  • Preparing security violation reports and related documentation.
  • Responding to emergency situations as required.
  • Participating in training programs and briefings as scheduled.
  • Ensuring cleanliness and orderliness of assigned workspaces and vehicles.

Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate their qualifications through detailed descriptions of their experience.
Military Grades
Enlisted personnel only.
Experience Requirements
Candidates should possess a minimum of six months of specialized experience in protecting critical physical assets from threats, enforcing regulations, maintaining order, and assisting individuals in distress.
Education
A high school diploma or equivalent may substitute for three months of specialized experience.

Additional Information
Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be available, subject to agency determination.
