Job Type: Permanent
Shift: 3 12-hour shifts, Day shift
Pay Range: $17 to $26 per hour
Job Summary:
The Medical Laboratory Technician 2 performs and monitors a full range of laboratory testing and research. This role assumes responsibility for problem resolution, quality control, and required equipment maintenance with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory tests in compliance with department procedures and all pertinent regulatory requirements.
- Follow quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.
- Perform instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Accurately report test results.
- Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies.
- Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
- Participate in laboratory projects and educational activities.
- Demonstrate and educate laboratory practices and technical skills to others.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
- Less than 1 year of experience.
Certifications:
- Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT): Must have one of the following certifications: MLT or CLS.
