Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Silicones team in Charleston, TN. This position performs a variety of electrical and automation engineering work to maintain and continuously improve the performance of multiple chemical production units and related auxiliary systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform electrical and automation engineering work to maintain and improve the performance of chemical production units and related auxiliary systems.
Provide engineering and technical services to Operations and additional service units to ensure safe operations, regulatory compliance, and maximize the availability and efficiency of these units.
Support and cooperate with fellow Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (EI&C) Engineering counterparts to ensure safe operating conditions and regulatory compliance of production units within the Silicones division.
Maximize the availability of production units at required capacity and quality.
Support and maintain instrumentation and automation for the production units.
Consult and support capital projects executed by project engineering.
Support process and technology transfer between WACKER HDK production sites.
Support engineering team on capital invest and expense type projects within area of responsibility.
Conduct or coordinate debottlenecking and troubleshooting activities within the packaging production units.
Become an expert capable of exercising Electrical & Instrumentation engineering judgement with respect to the process areas of responsibility and assigned subject matters.
Drive and support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, and cost.
Support development of specifications, standards, and codes.
Develop and support preventative maintenance plans such as ITPMs.
Cooperate with groups and individuals within the Engineering and Maintenance teams, within Operations, and other service units with focus on achieving optimal results and solutions from a corporate enterprise perspective.
Compile and provide technical reports related to area of responsibility.
Keep documentation such as MOCs and equipment records up to date.
Supervise 3rd party providers for engineering and maintenance services.
Represent WACKER's interests toward suppliers and contractors.
Perform all tasks and assignments according to WACKER policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Computer Science Engineering is preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience.
Thorough technical knowledge in the field of electrical, instrumentation, or automation engineering including relevant regulations, standards, and codes.
Basic understanding of engineering principles and construction practices.
Objective judgement and fact-based decision-making approach.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams.
Strong multitasking competency.
Ability to perform and succeed in an environment of schedule and cost pressure.
Team player attitude.
Capability to professionally deal with changing priorities and requirements.
Preferred:
Knowledge of Siemens Drives/PLC, Delta V instrumentation and automation, especially related to material handling and packaging.
Must be physically fit to wear an air purifying respirator if necessary.
