You will also be required to use eligibility applications to verify insurance coverage and interpret responses to capture accurate health insurance information.
Key Responsibilities- Capture demographic and insurance information from patients
- Use eligibility applications to verify insurance coverage and interpret responses
- Capture accurate health insurance information
- Have financial discussions with patients regarding payment responsibility
- Collect financial responsibility from patients based on eligibility responses or estimates
- Associate's degree preferred
- CHAA certification recommended
- Strong computer skills
- Strong insurance knowledge
- 3-5 years of experience in a hospital setting, preferably in Emergency Department
- Ability to work in a highly stressful environment of a Level I Trauma Center
- Ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment
- Good judgment and ability to problem-solve
- Ability to manage confidential information
