Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

Century Distribution Systems, a global leader in supply chain and logistics, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for preparing monthly financial closing journal entries, reconciliations, and management reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly financial closing journal entries, including standard accruals, payroll, depreciation, and prepaid amortization.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts for North American Century Companies.
  • Develop and maintain general ledger accounts for financial record and reporting.
  • Prepare North America Century Companies monthly gross margin reports.
  • Generate accrual files and review for proper recognition of revenue/expense based on GAAP.
  • Perform monthly accounting systems integrations for consolidation.
  • Prepare quarterly GST/HST tax returns for Century Canada and quarterly Ohio CAT returns.
  • Prepare annual Property Tax Return and Henrico County Business License filing.
  • Generate monthly financial consolidated statements for high-volume mid-tier international companies.
  • Assist in documenting accounting processes through Internal Control Narratives.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to gain efficiency in the accounting department.
  • Support audit requests and provide financial footnotes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting and/or financial reporting.
  • Public Accounting experience preferred, but not required.
  • CPA certification or in process.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup, and IF functions.
  • Critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new systems.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment:

Century Distribution Systems is committed to providing a safe and inclusive work environment. This role is a hybrid position, requiring one day of office work per week and occasional extended hours as needed.

Candidates must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. A strong sense of judgment and ability to raise issues to the Manager, Financial Reporting when necessary is essential.
