Job Title: Avionics Engineer III

Join Voyager Space, a leading provider of space technology and services, as we embark on a new era of space exploration. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Avionics Engineer III to join our team at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in avionics engineering disciplines, including the assessment of analytical and/or systems engineering items throughout the life cycle of each NASA Launch Services Program (LSP) mission and build cycle for each NASA vehicle and associated payload/spacecraft.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform reviews of Launch Vehicle (LV) hardware documents and technical assessments of relevant issues that arise during the build, test & vehicle integration process.
  • Evaluate LV avionics issues that arise and provide independent analysis and recommendations on how to resolve.
  • Represent NASA during LV design reviews, test plan reviews and test performance, along with completing post-test data reviews & assessments of assigned hardware.
  • Provide oversight and evaluation of Avionics launch vehicle testing.
  • Participate as a member of the NASA LSP Avionics launch team.
  • Participate in mission integration meetings and NASA readiness reviews when required.
  • Clearly and concisely document technical assessments and recommendations, and present all findings and concerns to fellow engineers and when necessary, at NASA Engineering Review Boards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in an engineering environment performing electrical systems related engineering/assessment, preferably with a LV or spacecraft program with emphasis on avionics.
  • Desire 5+ years of experience in engineering or manufacturing/production engineering.
  • Desire experience in participating in LV electrical systems pre-launch integration, checkout, problem resolution, and launch is preferred.
  • An understanding of the LV mission life cycle involving electrical/avionics systems is preferred.
  • Experience with Acceptance and Qualification testing methodology or philosophy desirable.
  • Previous experience with Python, Matlab is desirable.
