Position Overview

The University of Providence, School of Health Professions, seeks dedicated Clinical Lab Educators to enhance the educational experience of students in the Medical Assistant program. These professionals are essential in providing high-quality clinical training, ensuring that students emerge as proficient and confident healthcare practitioners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and assess students' clinical skills, offering constructive feedback to foster improvement.
  • Collaborate effectively with faculty and program directors to meet educational objectives.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in medical assisting and clinical education.
  • Incorporate technology and simulation tools into instructional methods.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, promoting their academic success.
  • Maintain current certifications in Medical Assisting and BLS/CPR.
  • Encourage a positive and engaging learning atmosphere.
  • Act as a mentor and role model for students.
  • Ensure student satisfaction and achievement of educational outcomes.
  • Participate in the design and evaluation of clinical course content.
  • Manage and deliver clinical lab sessions effectively.
  • Utilize personal technology for university-related tasks.
  • Contribute to committees within the School of Health Professions.
  • Comply with university policies and legal standards.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Certified Medical Assistant in good standing (Preferred: NHA CCMA Certification)
  • Current BLS/CPR Certification
  • EPIC Training is a plus

Preferred:

  • Associate degree in a relevant field such as Allied Health or Clinical Sciences.

Experience:

  • In-depth understanding of adult learning principles and educational methodologies.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience as a Clinical Lab Instructor, particularly in online education within healthcare.
  • Experience in developing clinical lab curricula, including online course design and program evaluation.
