Job Title: Regulatory Reporting Specialist Vice

SMBC Group is a leading global financial institution with a rich history and diverse range of financial services. As a Regulatory Reporting Specialist Vice, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the Regulatory Reporting Analysis team to understand current reporting procedures and manual processes.
  • Gain a deep understanding of SMBC's products and services, as well as the ways in which our organization reports these balances across various subledger systems.
  • Identify and address data quality issues, working closely with supporting teams to implement solutions.
  • Interact with group companies and data providers to ensure data integrity, reconcile differences, and perform regulatory calculations.
  • Draft reporting requirements for various regulatory reports, sharing them with IT partners to automate regulatory processes.
  • Perform preliminary end-user testing on automation enhancements to ensure results align with expectations.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports as needed.
  • Support and participate in regulatory reporting examinations, internal and external audits.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA or CFA certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in change management or a business analysis role.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in bank regulatory reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, including PivotTables, formulas, and data management.
  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks and proficiency in Axiom, Alteryx, or Power BI is preferred.
