Key Responsibilities of the Bilingual Youth Worker:
- Providing care for unaccompanied refugee minors in a secure and nurturing environment, ensuring constant supervision.
- Planning, organizing, and engaging in various recreational activities aligned with therapeutic goals for each child and the community.
- Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the living area while assisting residents with their chores.
- Facilitating the adjustment of children to their new surroundings through various counseling techniques, including active listening, providing information, reassurance, and emotional support.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Possession of a valid NYS Driver's License
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Availability for evening, overnight, and weekend shifts

Position Summary:
As a Bilingual Youth Worker, your main duty is to care for unaccompanied refugee minors in a residential environment. However, the most significant aspect of your role is to assist these children in adapting to their new surroundings, ensuring their safety and well-being during their stay. This flexible position offers a variety of shifts, allowing you to engage in meaningful work while gaining valuable experience. Youth Workers are actively involved with the children, continuously seeking ways to make daily life inclusive and engaging.
