Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team at Kingston Elementary. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teacher in maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in daily and long-range lesson planning to ensure a cohesive and engaging learning experience.
  • Conduct learning exercises with small groups of children, promoting socialization and academic growth.
  • Guide children in developing positive relationships with their peers, fostering a sense of community and respect.
  • Monitor and report any special needs or concerns of individual children to the teacher.
  • Provide escort and assistance to children as needed, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for each child, supporting the teacher's administrative tasks.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment, promoting a sense of pride and responsibility.
  • Supervise children during regular play periods, ensuring their physical and emotional safety.
  • Assist in collecting and displaying educational materials, enhancing the learning experience.
Terms of Employment

This is a 200-day position, with salary and work year to be established by the Board.

Evaluation

Performance of this role will be evaluated in accordance with the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Service Personnel.
