Central Plant Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Central Plant Manager to oversee the safe operation and maintenance of our mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, generators, switchgear, and pumps, as well as experience supporting lab environments and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor plant operations to ensure performance efficiency and compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
- Develop and implement maintenance, repair, and upgrade plans for the central plant.
- Lead a team of technicians and engineers to ensure a safe, productive, and efficient working environment.
- Collaborate with the Senior Facilities Manager to make recommendations for utilities and infrastructure renewal and replacement.
- Develop and manage budgets for maintenance and repair projects.
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules, guidelines, and protocols.
- Drive labor and scheduling productivity.
- Lead by example promoting a positive work environment through effective communication skills.
- Train, develop, and monitor the performance of the team.
- Maintain professional and effective communications with our customer, tenants, and subcontractors.
- Minimum of 5 years supervising a team.
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, generators, switchgear, and pumps.
- Previous experience supporting lab environments.
- Previous experience with regulatory compliance (SDCAPCDE, OHSA, EPA, etc.).
- Sound understanding of engineering principles.
- Ability to communicate complex information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels.
- Leadership skills to motivate and guide others to work hard by building a sense of teamwork and commitment.
- Ability to work productively and effectively in a fast-paced, stressful, demanding, and/or ambiguous work environment.
