Role Responsibilities:

As a Senior Cybersecurity Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Leverage your technical skills within a collaborative team to strategize, design, develop, validate, and assess cybersecurity solutions throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Conduct comprehensive cyber risk evaluations, including threat modeling and vulnerability assessments, while proposing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze design limitations and trade-offs, ensuring robust system and security designs in the cyber landscape.
  • Work closely with cybersecurity professionals, system architects, and developers to implement resilient cybersecurity solutions.
  • Execute cybersecurity testing and evaluation of hardware and software to confirm adherence to specifications and requirements.
  • Utilize established cybersecurity processes, methodologies, and tools to ensure uniform application.
  • Facilitate assessment and authorization activities as mandated by clients.
  • Contribute to proposal efforts by drafting technical documentation, estimating cybersecurity needs, and participating in Independent Technical Reviews (ITRs).
  • Coordinate Cybersecurity Functional Metrics to assist in cost estimation and resource allocation.
Important Considerations:
  • This role necessitates a government security SECRET clearance; candidates must be U.S. Citizens.
  • Travel to client sites may be required, up to 10% of the time.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is a skilled Cybersecurity Systems Engineer with a strong passion for cybersecurity and a solid technical foundation. You excel in collaborative settings and possess experience in planning, designing, and validating cybersecurity solutions. A current active Secret clearance and familiarity with relevant programs and systems are preferred.

Qualifications:
  • Active SECRET security clearance, with the ability to maintain it.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering).
  • 5+ years of experience in technical systems engineering within DOD environments.
  • DoD 8570 approved baseline certification for IAT Level II (e.g., CompTIA Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security) or the ability to obtain certification within six months.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% to client locations.
Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and exercise sound judgment in achieving technical objectives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and Cyber Capability Development & Integration.
  • Capability to effectively communicate status and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in designing, securing, and implementing various operating systems and network devices.
  • Familiarity with system architecture and design modeling tools.
Security Clearance Requirement:

This position requires a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. Citizens.

This role offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for both remote and on-site work at designated Lockheed Martin facilities.
