A Day in the Life

As a Research Infrastructure Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects, including:

  • Researching and implementing system management and deployment solutions
  • Setting up foreman and other solutions for deployment systems
  • Creating templates for system configuration
  • Writing scripts in Ruby, Python, PHP, BASH to interact with and connect different systems and tools
  • Creating scripts to provision bare metal via IPMI and Redfish
  • Standing up, maintaining, and improving clusters for different projects
  • Working with tools such as Foreman, Ubuntu MAAS, Docker, Rancher, Mesos, and others
  • Securing systems to meet hardening requirements and compliance
  • Improving and reworking networking for clusters
  • Working with vendors to plan upgrades and hardware improvements to future deployments and expansions
  • Designing and 3D-printing brackets and other custom hardware/parts for different systems
  • Helping with custom embedded solutions for system monitoring and compliance
What We're Looking For

We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Infrastructure Engineer who is passionate about automation and emerging technology. If you're a well-rounded individual with in-depth experience across multiple technologies, including scripting, development/test/QA tools, analytic frameworks, container and orchestration tools, Linux operating systems, and networking and security administration, we want to hear from you.

You'll excel in this role if you're focused on automation, embracing emerging technology, and motivated to continually learn new things and work with new technologies.
