As a working manager, you will lead by example, engaging directly in business development, estimating for Division 28 Access Control products, and driving the team's performance to meet strategic goals. You will play a crucial part in our strategic initiatives by attending on-site meetings with clients, visiting job sites, and reaching out to both existing and prospective customers to expand our portfolio.
Your role as a leader includes fostering a high-performance culture within the Access Control Division while contributing directly to the division's revenue and profitability through your hands-on involvement in estimating and sales activities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead by example as a working manager, actively engaging in estimating and selling activities.
- Forge strong partnerships with vendors and the purchasing team to secure the most competitive pricing.
- Meticulously review architectural drawings and specifications, focusing on Access Control systems.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of building codes, life safety, and accessibility standards in the estimation process.
- Execute takeoffs with precision, employing a systematic and detail-oriented approach.
- Craft compelling proposals and present innovative value engineering solutions to our customers.
- Maintain direct and effective communication with customers through phone, email, and on-site visits.
- Adhere to bid date schedules and deadlines with unwavering commitment.
- Engage in proactive follow-ups, negotiations, and successful closure of bid projects.
- Develop and nurture long-term customer relationships to unlock growth opportunities.
- Call on developers, contractors, and property management teams. Present our value proposition, convert existing properties, and solidify our position on new projects.
- Lead and mentor the Access Control team, driving performance and accountability.
- Manage access control project managers, ensuring project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Implement, standardize, and maintain best practices in project management and operations.
- Collaborate with leadership across other divisions to align strategies and optimize operations within the Access Control division.
- Oversee the development and implementation of strategic initiatives within the division while participating in their execution.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry is highly preferred.
- Profound knowledge of access control systems is essential.
- Familiarity with the integration of access control systems with other security solutions is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in project estimating and a thorough understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
- Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail and exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Superior communication skills with a strong emphasis on timely follow-up.
