Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Controls Technician to join our team at dormakaba. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, programming, testing, calibrating, operating, and repairing control systems, along with their related software, hardware, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to control and monitoring systems and perform needed repairs
  • Test and calibrate systems devices to ensure functional reliability of operating/monitoring system
  • Install, modify, and maintain system hardware such as electrical conduit, sensor wiring, power supplies, control system enclosures, etc.
  • Maintain and operate workstations, including creating/updating, maintaining a point database, and maintaining infrastructure
  • Program control systems using appropriate system program language for proper sequences of operations and operating schedules
  • Maintain and repair AC and DC motors and control systems, Lighting systems, Transformers, Flame Control Systems, M.C.C./Switchgear
  • Audit electrical systems for operational and safety conditions, identifying potential hazards and correcting them.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience installing and maintain building/plant control systems and their related equipment
  • Experience with PC and application software
  • Knowledgeable of Ladder logic and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of electrical technical training,
  • Associate's degree in related technical field
