Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring the efficient operation of our inventory management system, and supporting warehouse operations by monitoring stock levels and processing inventory transactions. This role is critical to maintaining the smooth flow of materials within the warehouse, ensuring that production and shipping schedules are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels, ensuring that all transactions are recorded in the inventory management system.
  2. Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to verify stock accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  3. Investigate and resolve any inventory discrepancies, including shortages, overages, and damaged items.
  4. Coordinate with the procurement, production, and shipping departments to ensure timely and accurate material flow.
  5. Process inventory transactions, including receiving, storing, and issuing materials, using warehouse management software (WMS).
  6. Generate and analyze inventory reports to provide insights on stock levels, trends, and potential issues.
  7. Develop and implement inventory control procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency within the warehouse.
  8. Assist with the organization and optimization of warehouse storage, ensuring that materials are stored in a safe and accessible manner.
  9. Collaborate with team members to support continuous improvement initiatives and streamline inventory processes.
  10. Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements related to inventory handling and storage.
  11. Train warehouse staff on inventory control procedures and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Physical ability to lift and move materials as required, and to perform tasks that involve repetitive motion.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse setting.
