POSITION SUMMARY:

The Firearms Sales Associate is tasked with providing exceptional Counter Sales and Customer Service for Firearms, in addition to assisting with Floor and Counter Sales of various Hunting Merchandise. This role involves engaging with customers in a friendly and prompt manner, ensuring merchandise is handled with care, and offering valuable information and assistance to enhance the customer experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering world-class customer service, ensuring a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all patrons. Provides a memorable experience for every customer by assisting them in making informed purchasing decisions through: identifying and assessing customer needs, making tailored product recommendations, and promoting programs such as CLUB membership and In-Store Pickup.
  • Ensures the accurate and thorough completion of 4473 Forms.
  • Develops the ability to effectively demonstrate products to customers.
  • Organizes and maintains merchandise within the retail environment, particularly at the Gun Counter.
  • Restocks shelves as necessary, adhering to merchandising guidelines.
  • Continually enhances product knowledge through ongoing training.
  • Remains informed about current promotions and maintains accurate pricing and signage.
  • Assists with seasonal merchandise transitions on the sales floor.
  • Keeps the work area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 0-2 years in a Retail environment.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Knowledge of Firearms and Ammunition products.
  • Familiarity with ATF Federal and State Regulations.
  • Proficiency in Customer Service and Sales of Firearms and Ammunition.
  • Understanding of GCA regulations.
  • Ability to merchandise and stock products effectively.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods during shifts.
  • Occasionally required to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
  • Must communicate effectively with others to exchange information.
  • Occasionally perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools.
  • Occasionally drive motor vehicles or operate heavy equipment.
  • Light work involving moving objects up to 20 pounds frequently, with occasional lifting of objects up to 100 pounds or more (team lift as needed).
  • Occasionally work in tight or confined spaces.
  • Occasionally work in noisy environments.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

  • Executes tasks and responsibilities under general supervision, utilizing established procedures and innovative approaches. Makes choices from limited alternatives to resolve issues. Occasionally exercises independent judgment to complete assignments and often recommends improvements to work procedures, policies, and practices.
