The Transportation Infrastructure Engineer at Foth and Van Dyke, LLC will deliver civil engineering expertise and conduct technical traffic evaluations for roadway and transportation initiatives, including highways, streets, and multi-modal facilities.

Remote work options are available up to three days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop travel demand forecasts for existing and future scenarios;
• Conduct technical traffic assessments to identify operational and safety deficiencies across all transportation modes;
• Propose mitigation strategies or safety enhancements to address current and anticipated traffic challenges;
• Create and refine roadway improvement designs, intersection concept illustrations, and traffic control plans adhering to engineering standards and the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD);
• Design street lighting and fiber optic connections, producing detailed plans and quantity estimates;
• Perform site evaluations of project locations and design public outreach surveys, compiling written and graphical reports; and

• Engage in and present project findings in written formats and during client meetings, technical group discussions, and public hearings.


Required Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum of one year of experience in transportation planning within the engineering sector.

The role necessitates one year of experience in each of the following areas: proposal development for transportation projects, Geographic Information Systems, Microstation, technical report composition, traffic operations and safety analysis, traffic modeling software (including Synchro, Vistro, and Sidra), as well as familiarity with the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Highway Safety Manual (HSM), and ITE Trip Generation.
