We are currently seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to oversee financial operations within this dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, along with a minimum of ten years of experience in a financial leadership role within a distribution or manufacturing context. This position requires a strategic thinker who is also hands-on, capable of guiding and developing a team while driving improvements in financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monthly closing process to ensure precise and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee financial accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to maintain compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct in-depth financial planning and analysis to facilitate informed strategic decisions.
  • Handle departmental transactions, ensuring accurate recording and reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations, including revenue recognition and lease accounting.
  • Lead projects aimed at integrating ERP systems to enhance financial operations and efficiency.
  • Oversee treasury functions, including cash flow management and banking relationships.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to protect company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Coordinate with external accountants for the preparation of annual financial statements and tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with government reporting requirements and tax obligations.
  • Supervise the administration of the company's retirement plan.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting, purchasing, HR, and IT teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Support executive leadership in various financial and operational initiatives, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management.
  • Assist in evaluating and executing financing activities.
  • Oversee cost management processes to ensure accurate product and service costing.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by ownership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager in the distribution or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems and experience with integration projects.
  • Proficient in treasury management, including cash flow forecasting.
  • Experience in cost management and allocation processes.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
