Job Overview

Position: Construction Financial Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Month-End Closing Process and oversee weekly payroll and worker's compensation accounting tasks.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and as needed.
  • Ensure the general ledger is maintained accurately and is up-to-date.
  • Supervise all accounts payable activities, including payment reviews, coding, and processing.
  • Handle accounts receivable duties such as invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition.
  • Generate financial reports through the collection, analysis, and summarization of data.
  • Apply GAAP and accounting policies to ensure compliance with relevant standards.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, both online and desktop, specifically for construction accounting.
  • Experience in construction accounting, including Pre-Liens, Subcontractors, and AIA Forms.
  • Familiarity with Prevailing Wage and Public Works Projects.
  • Knowledge of DIR reporting and certified payroll processes.
  • Understanding of workers' compensation regulations.
  • Experience in job costing across multiple contracts.
  • Ability to produce profit and loss reports.
  • Competence in payroll services, including ADP WFN and Time & Attendance Module.
  • Skill in developing company accounting standards.
  • Experience with complex micro-accounting tasks.
  • Strong data entry skills, particularly in job costing subledgers.
  • Experience with bank reconciliations and credit card transactions.
  • Ability to create Excel tables for cost accounting, utilizing advanced formulas.
  • Experience in accounts receivable and collections.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to act with urgency.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $36-$43.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years in bookkeeping (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years using QuickBooks (preferred).

Work Location: In-person at the corporate office.

Reporting To: Company Controller.
