Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafts and organizes correspondence for departmental staff as assigned.
  • Determines the layout of documents and organizes them according to audience and word processing capabilities.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of medical terminology.
  • Coordinates tasks and collaborates with team members as necessary.
  • Facilitates staff activities based on personal observations and feedback from colleagues.
  • Communicates meeting schedules and appointments clearly, ensuring alignment with other priorities and deadlines.
  • Prepares accurate and comprehensive minutes of meetings.
  • Maintains a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Manages various departmental records and logs, entering data into computerized systems as well as maintaining manual records.
  • Verifies the accuracy of entries and compiles reports as needed.
  • Organizes records systematically in accordance with established protocols.
  • Ensures high-quality photocopying of materials, adhering to deadlines and presentation standards.
  • Processes incoming mail by opening, sorting, dating, stamping, and distributing it.
  • Responds promptly to routine and urgent inquiries.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a secretarial role within a healthcare or office setting.
Compensation Information

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with applicable laws regarding salary transparency. The hourly wage for this position is $31.06. Actual salaries are determined by various factors, including experience, education, and organizational needs. This salary range does not encompass bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
