Foster Care Social Worker

As a Foster Care Social Worker with Allies for Every Child, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and positive outcomes for children in our care. You will work closely with resource parents, children, and LA County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) case workers to coordinate services and provide case management support.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate the needs of children and develop and update Needs & Services Plans (NSPs)
- Coordinate services with DCFS case workers and facilitate the joining of children with appropriate resource families
- Supervise children in care and conduct regular meetings with children and resource families
- Provide clinical support services and resources to resource families to address transition and grief/loss issues
- Engage with children's family members by coordinating and supervising court-ordered family time
- Complete and update case records and submit periodic reports according to agency policy and regulatory requirements
- Respond to emergency calls from resource parents and complete special incident reports as needed
- Conduct site visits at resource homes to ensure ongoing compliance with requirements
- Master of Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university
- Demonstrated working knowledge and application of child development, attachment theory, and family systems theory
- 2 years of experience in child welfare and/or adoptions preferred
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and excellent writing and case management skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Fingerprint background clearance and successful completion of pre-employment physical and PPD test/risk assessment
- Current CA driver's license, valid auto insurance, and reliable transportation
