Position Overview

The Senior Field Operations Technician plays a crucial role in overseeing, scheduling, and executing all service and warranty tasks. This position requires the ability to operate both autonomously and collaboratively within the Performance Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team. Close interaction with customers, the Branch Manager, Senior Electrical Foreman, Construction Supervisor, and the centralized scheduling team is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and uphold the service and warranty schedule efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the Electrical Foreman, Construction Supervisor, and Branch Manager to allocate labor resources for service and warranty initiatives.
  • Facilitate training and development for Field Service and Communications Technicians.
  • Conduct regular meetings to align and educate the local field service team on best practices.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new members of the field performance team.
  • Consistently surpass established goals for key performance indicators, including turnaround time, customer experience ratings, and average completed dispatches.
  • Assist with additional tasks such as inspections and site audits as required.

Qualifications

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in field construction or solar energy preferred.
  • Experience in PV design or electrical systems is advantageous.
  • A high school diploma is mandatory.

Licenses and Certifications

  • A clean driving record is essential, along with the ability to pass a driving background check. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver's license.
  • A valid state or local Electrical Journeyman certification or license is preferred and may be required based on state regulations.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant standards.
  • A proactive team player with a strong desire to succeed.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Familiarity with electrical/PV installation principles, including the ability to interpret single-line diagrams and understand PV systems from installation to connection.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and the ability to identify and report hazards.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented with a proven ability to meet deadlines and key performance metrics.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with sound judgment and the ability to escalate issues appropriately.

Physical Requirements

  • Capability to transport materials and equipment for job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance).
  • Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces, requiring frequent bending, twisting, climbing, and balancing.
  • Capacity to climb ladders and work in diverse weather conditions.
  • Proficiency in using hand functions requiring fine motor skills.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, such as attics and crawl spaces.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and respond to verbal commands.
