Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Code Enforcement Inspector I to join our team at the City of Laredo, TX. As a Code Enforcement Inspector I, you will be responsible for enforcing city codes and ordinances, issuing warnings and citations as needed, and conducting property inspections to ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce city codes and ordinances, and issue warnings and citations as needed.
  • Conduct property inspections to ensure compliance with city codes and ordinances.
  • Research and gather information to support code enforcement efforts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with property owners, tenants, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide education and outreach to the public on code compliance and enforcement.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or 60 college hours from an accredited college or university.
  • At least one year of general work experience.
  • Valid Texas Driver License.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent travel to various locations throughout the city, including construction sites, residential areas, and commercial districts. The incumbent must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally.
