Job Summary

The City of Laredo, TX is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Code Enforcement Inspector I to join our team. As a Code Enforcement Inspector I, you will be responsible for enforcing city codes and ordinances, conducting property inspections, and educating the public about code violations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce city codes and ordinances, and issue warnings or citations as necessary
  • Conduct property inspections to determine compliance with city codes and ordinances
  • Communicate with property owners and occupants to educate them about code violations and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with other city departments to ensure effective code enforcement and compliance
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, violations, and compliance activities
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or 60 college hours from an accredited college or university
  • At least one year of general work experience
  • Valid Texas Driver License
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
Working Conditions

The Code Enforcement Inspector I will work in a variety of settings, including office and outdoor environments. The position requires frequent travel to various locations throughout the city, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
