Join the City of Laredo, TX team as a Code Enforcement Supervisor, where you will play a vital role in maintaining the city's property codes and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for its citizens.

Job Summary:

The Code Enforcement Supervisor is responsible for supervising code enforcement staff and overseeing the day-to-day operations of property inspections. This includes leading training and education efforts, conducting outreach for the homeless community, and maintaining organized records of code violations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and direct code enforcement staff, including making hiring and termination decisions, prioritizing assignments, and developing employee work schedules.
  • Perform administrative functions, such as report building, compiling, and revising for daily work orders, goals, current standings, past dues, and future projections.
  • Coordinate homeless outreach and cleanup efforts, assist with outreach to the homeless community, and provide customer service to citizens reporting violations and concerns.
  • Supervise graffiti program and assist with special assignments related to graffiti removal.
  • Perform related work as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in supervising staff, code enforcement, or related field.
  • Texas Department of Health Code Enforcement Officer Certification.
  • Valid Texas Driver License.
