Department Chair, Developmental Sciences

The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Chair of the Department of Developmental and Surgical Sciences. This is a unique opportunity to lead a multi-disciplinary department that plays a critical role in advancing health through scientific discovery, innovative education, and providing high-quality care for all communities.
The successful candidate will have a strong clinical, research, and leadership background, with experience in guiding teams and programs. They will be responsible for creating and supporting diverse teams of professionals, advancing the department's tripartite mission of education, research, and clinical care.
The Chair will report directly to the Dean of the School of Dentistry and will be a member of the Dean's Executive Team. The University of Minnesota is a world-renowned institution with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in a relevant field, with a broad scope of academic and clinical knowledge.
- Experience leading, supervising, or managing teams and programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse constituencies.
- Eligibility for a tenured appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.
