Job Title: Department Chair Psychiatry

Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a highly qualified Department Chair to lead our Psychiatry Department. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to our medical staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Psychiatry Department, including strategic planning, goal setting, and performance management.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop a talented team of medical staff, including physicians and advanced practice providers.
  • Champion academic endeavors, including research and education, to advance the field of psychiatry and improve patient outcomes.
  • Work closely with provider finance services to manage departmental finances and optimize resource allocation.
  • Foster a culture of quality and safety, ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care and that our staff are supported in their work.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to advance the mission of Hennepin Healthcare and improve patient outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Doctorate degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) and current licensure to practice medicine in the State of Minnesota.
  • Board certification in an ABMS recognized specialty.
  • Minimum 5 years of administrative leadership experience at the institution, department, or section level.
  • Eligibility for an academic appointment at the University of Minnesota.
